Article Abstract
The syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone(SIADH)is related to a wide variety of disease and drugs. The hallmark of the syndrome consists of a hypo-osmolar hyponatremia secondary to water retention, which is due to the persistent hydro-osmotic action of antidiuretic hormone(ADH)on the epithelium of the collecting duct.Impaired renal dilution capacity in the presence of serum hypo-osmolality and increased serum ADH level associated with normal renal, adrenal, and thyroid functions, are essential findings in the diagnosis of SIADH.In the literature, two cases of temporal arteritis have been reported in association with SIADH[1].We herein present four cases of temporal arteritis revealed by a SIADH.These observations were collected between 1986 and 1988.
